Find the parts of your model that need support

An island is a part of the model that isn't connected to anything below it when it starts printing, so it needs a support. The Island Detector finds and highlights them in red. Open it in Prepare → Support → Island.

Accuracy

  • Fast: only the largest islands (about 3 mm). Good with heavy or medium supports.
  • Normal: medium islands (about 1.6 mm). Good with medium or light supports.
  • Detailed: islands on every layer under 0.1 mm. Slower on complex models.
  • Real (Plus): uses the layer height of your current resin profile. The thinner the layers, the longer it takes and the more islands it finds.

Review and support islands

  • Use the arrows to go through the islands one by one. The camera focuses on each one.
  • Delete an island from the list with the red bin, or all of them with the grey bin.
  • Choose a support preset and click All Supports to All Islands to support them automatically.

Tip: start with Fast or Normal, remove islands you don't want supported, add supports, then repeat with finer settings. Islands smaller than your lightest support tip are usually best left unsupported.
