Find and fix errors in your 3D models before printing
Lychee Slicer checks every model for errors when you import or update it. Models with errors show a red warning next to their name in the Objects list. Models with holes in their surface are coloured red.
Common errors
- Holes (boundary edges): a model must be watertight to print. Simple holes can be repaired in Lychee Slicer. Complex ones need a 3D modeling program.
- Non-manifold geometry: extra polygons that create internal walls, so the software can't tell inside from outside. These are usually inside the model and don't affect the print, but watch for resin traps, especially after hollowing.
- Reversed normals: surfaces facing the wrong way are treated as holes. Lychee Slicer can't fix these, so use a 3D modeling program.
Repair a model
- In the Layout workspace, select the model or models.
- Click Repair 3D model in the Object Repair panel on the right.
- A message tells you whether the repair worked.
Repair automatically on import
Turn on Auto Repair on Load in File → Preferences → Model Repair. With many or very complex files, this can make loading slow, so turn it off if you have problems.
