Change how the 3D view displays your models
Click the gear icon at the top right of the 3D view to open the view options.
- Orthographic: a flat view without perspective, useful up close for supporting or orienting. Shortcut: 0.
- Flip Camera: flips the build plate to show your scene the way it will actually print.
- Wireframe Mode: shows the polygons that make up your models. It uses extra resources, so don't leave it on.
- Selection Outline: draws a white border around the selected model. Turn it off here if you don't want the outline.
- Normals Mode: shows which side of each surface is the outside. A flipped surface is treated as a hole.
- Overhang Mode: surfaces closer to flat show darker red, steeper ones blue. Red areas need the most supports, so it helps you choose an orientation.
- Layer Thickness Preview: simulates the real layer thickness so you can judge it against details like support tips. It uses extra resources.
