What to do if your models or build plate vanish while the menus still work, or the screen turns black or grey
Your 3D view disappeared but the menus still work
This usually means your graphics card ran out of memory. Your work is safe: it's only the display that stopped.
- Save your scene.
- Close Lychee Slicer and open it again. The 3D view should come back.
To stop it from happening again
- Close other programs that use your graphics card, such as web browsers, video apps or image editors.
- Keep fewer models in the same scene.
- Use lighter files. Many figurine files have far more polygons than your printer can reproduce, and they overload your computer.
- Check your graphics and performance settings.
- Update your graphics card drivers from the NVIDIA, AMD or Intel website.
- If it happens often, a graphics card with more memory will help. A gaming card works well; you don't need a professional 3D card.
Black or grey screen on Mac
Move or resize the Lychee Slicer window. This usually brings the display back.
Other display problems
- Lychee Slicer Won't Open, or Shows a Blank or Grey Screen
- Program window running but not displaying (Windows / MacOS)
- Lychee Slicer Window Is Cut Off or Not Fully Displayed
- "WebGL 2 Not Supported" Error
