Collect the log files our team needs to investigate a crash or bug

Logs record what Lychee Slicer was doing when a problem happened. They help our development team find the cause much faster.

Get your logs

  1. Make sure Write logs in files is turned on in File → Preferences → Global Settings.
  2. Reproduce the problem (for example, let Lychee Slicer crash or freeze).
  3. Reopen Lychee Slicer straight away, before doing anything else.
  4. Go to Help → Get Logs and save the file.

Send the log file to us through the contact form or by email at contact@mango3d.io, with a short description of what happened. Large files can be shared with a Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer link.

Older versions of Lychee Slicer

If you don't see Get Logs in the Help menu, start Lychee Slicer in debug mode instead, reproduce the problem, then close it and send us the log.bin file. Don't reopen Lychee Slicer before you have the file, or it will be overwritten.

  • Windows: in C:\Program Files\LycheeSlicer, open a PowerShell window and run ./LycheeSlicer.exe --debug. The log is saved in C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Roaming\LycheeSlicer.
  • Mac: in Terminal, run /Applications/LycheeSlicer.app/Contents/MacOS/LycheeSlicer --debug. The log is saved in /Users/(your user name)/Library/Application Support/.
  • Linux: in a terminal, run LycheeSlicer --debug. The log is saved in /home/(your user name)/.config/LycheeSlicer/.
