Choosing the right download, opening Lychee Slicer for the first time, and requirements

Pick the right version for your Mac

On lychee.co/download-lychee-slicer, choose Mac OS arm for Macs with an Apple Silicon chip (M1, M2, M3 and later), or Mac OS intel for Intel Macs. To check which you have, open the Apple menu → About This Mac and look at the Chip or Processor line.

Install

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file.
  2. Drag Lychee Slicer into your Applications folder.
  3. Open Lychee Slicer from Applications and log in.

macOS blocks Lychee Slicer the first time you open it

  1. Close the security warning.
  2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down and click Open Anyway next to the Lychee Slicer message, then enter your Mac password.
  4. Open Lychee Slicer again. You only need to do this once.

Requirements

  • Minimum: macOS 10.14.6 Mojave, Apple M1 Pro or Intel i7 6-core, 16 GB RAM
  • Recommended: macOS 13.4.1 Ventura, Apple M2 Pro, 32 GB RAM

Higher-resolution printers (8K and above) need more memory and graphics power. Macs with less than 16 GB of RAM may be slow when slicing.

Window opens off-screen or not at all?

See Program window running but not displaying (Windows / MacOS) and Lychee Slicer Won't Open, or Shows a Blank or Grey Screen.
